Private party only

The moment America changed forever has, for the last 13 years nationally and locally, been remembered at approximately 8:45am EST,  5:45am locally.

Every single person in the United States is affected with the terrible loss of life and liberty that day. The names of those murdered by foreign terrorists are memorialized at hundreds of sites across the country and each year Americans gather at those sites to remember.

For the last 13 years, the local fire district has sponsored a memorial ceremony at 5:45am every September 11th to honor those lost.

Last year was the first remembrance at the permanent installation of a piece of the Twin Towers located at Station 64, home to South King Fire’s 9/11 Memorial Park.

This year the fire department decided you, and (nearly) every other the deeply affected citizen of their district, were not important enough to bother inviting to their private invitation only event this morning.

While the rest of the country gathered in unison for a moment of silence in solidarity, your commissioners and administration intentionally excluded you.

They magnanimously set up an alternate event for noon on the 11th, hours after the rest of the country remembered, all the while inviting only special friends to their daybreak service.

8:46:30:[10] American Airlines Flight 11 crashes at roughly 466 mph into the north face of the North Tower (1 WTC) of the World Trade Center, between floors 93 and 99.
